This gentleman was sitting down on the train as I was getting on. The first thing I noticed was, a board on his lap that read, “Jesus loves me.” With hands that reflected hard work and struggles with what he wore on his feet, he is full of life and light in his eyes. He stood up, looked at me, and I just knew that he and I shared the same God. He had asked me a question out of all people in the train. “With that smile, you can get through anything, even when people always try to get to you.” (I was wearing my TSA uniform. You know, the guy that tells you to take your shoes off at the airport.) This is one of my favorite and memorable photographs.
Beautiful photo and story!
Thank you so much.
Great shot and the story behind a picture is always worth the extra time to strike up a conversation.
Thank you. And yes it is.
