New to Old

I took the first six images today, but re-edited all images at the end. I’ve been waiting for the building on the first image to be less busy. The building was always surrounded by cars and signs. It used to be a used cars dealership/car shop, but it closed down so it worked to my advantage. Also, I love the lines and the odd door.

The second image, the basket by the garage door. It was cloudy outside, gloomy, lonely, kinda like when the kids are away in school and this court has no one to play on it. The garage door was crooked and there was overgrown grass on the crack. I like to find interest in the boring. It was a good day. =)

Greece Throwback Thursday!

Back in 2009, I had my Sony Cybershot shooting away in Athens and Crete, Greece. This made me realize that my calling was in Street Photography. This was my undeveloped “eye” I had for photography. It was there, calling my name all along. Amongst my thousands of snap shots, I found these photographs. I was amazed at finding these. I will go back one day and photograph beautiful Greece.

Make Up

Film photography is so amazing. I took film classes and never really honed in to it, but it inspired me to take more photographs. This particular image is special, because first, it is my beautiful wife and love the composition. It took a lot of work. I dodge and burned the mirror and took about almost 3 hours for me to get this result in the darkroom. It is challenging, but definitely a great accomplishment.
