Progress = Discouragement’s worst enemy!

Starting a business is not an easy task. It takes countless hours of work, concentration, research, effort and lots of coffee! I know that I have a lot to work on and haven’t scratched the surface.  The more I dig deeper into the business, there’s a lot of things that I didn’t know I was getting myself into. There’s a lot of expectations and our encouragement can get shot down at times.

Discouragement comes and goes and it can bring us to a dead end, especially if we let it consume us. I have learned that as long as we take a step forward even if it’s just coming up with an idea, we make progress. Progress is discouragement’s enemy. I have learned that discouragement is the last thing I want for my business and I continue to find ways where I can better my business.

So if you are out there, starting a business, don’t be discouraged because progress is the best weapon we can have to get out of that slump.  Keep moving forward!

English Bulldog

English Bulldog

I know I have posted about Ellie before, but I never posted my personal favorite. I always had a vision of how I want to see something and I definitely nailed this picture because it’s exactly what I had envisioned. This 6 month old pup was not sitting still for me, but with patience you find the opportunity to take the, “decisive moment.” That’s what I did here. =)

Flea Market

Flea Market

Who would have thought that this was at a flea market? I guess you expect to see anything at a flea market. I decided to stage the other kid to the right facing out and see people’s reactions. It was priceless! It was strange to see this, but I thought they were a little cool.

I was out photographing at the park and I was trying to get some freeze motion for ducks in mid-air. Sometimes with nature and animals, you never know what they will do, so I am sitting there, camping, waiting for my decisive moment and I ended up with this image. Its not the duck or the beautiful bald eagle in mid-air, but I am happy with this image.

Flamingo & Chevy Hood

Flamingo & Chevy Hood

I’m walking old town Plano and I am looking for interesting scenes. I walk into this alley way, and there it is, a Flamingo on a vintage Chevy hood (not sure what year). As I am taking pictures, to get the right angle, a man walks out and startled me and said, “Hey, who gave you permission to take a picture of that Flamingo?!” I looked at him, and thought in my head of the rights I have as a photographer, but said, “it’s interesting,” and he laughed and told me he was just kidding. He asked me what I thought about it and told him it was interesting and clever. People from the south are such good people.
